Sacred Practices

Green Mountain Monastery - Sr. Gail Worcelo

Picture
Sr Gail is one of the co-founders, along with Bernadette Bostwick and  the late cultural historian and geologian Thomas Berry, of Green Mountain Monastery in Greensboro, Vermont.  (Sisters of the Earth Community)
The community’s mission is: A Single Sacred Community: Where we go into the future together with the natural world in a mutually enhancing way. The monastery offers a space of deep listening, simplicity, healing, and restoration through direct experience with the community of life on 160 acres of land.

Sr Gail leads retreats and programs around the world and throughout the USA on themes such as:  Leading Together from the Interior in a Time of Planetary Collapse, Ecological Grief and Breaking Open the Heart as Spiritual Practice, and The Spirituality of the Fireball: Guidance for Our Way Forward.

All Souls Interfaith - Rev. Don Chatfield

All Souls is an interfaith spiritual center in Shelburne, Vermont, cultivating inner peace and inspiring connection with Divine Source. Our mission is to cultivate inner peace and inspire connection with Divine Source. We envision a just, peaceful, and loving world, respectful of difference and united by common humanity, in which people live purposeful lives in harmony with one another, other creatures, and the Earth itself.

Middlebury Congregational Church - Rev. Andy Nagy-Benson

Picture
The Congregational Church of Middlebury, United Church of Christ, is an open and affirming church. We welcome you, no matter who you are or where you are on life’s journey.
We are a self-governing community of faith in covenant with the United Church of Christ, active in the local and global mission of the church. It is our aim to offer welcoming hospitality to all. Our belief in the one God of love compels us to embrace one another, people from other Christian denominations, followers of other faiths, and individuals who do not identify as religious at all. Our goal is to see Christ in every human being and to value each person as an individual. We endeavor to love each other as God loves us.

Interfaith Power and Light - Nancy Wright

The Rev. Dr. Nancy Wright is the Pastor of Ascension Lutheran Church, S. Burlington, VT and the Environmental Liaison for the New England Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Dr. Wright coauthored (with Fr. Donald Kill) Ecological Healing: A  Christian Vision (Orbis, 1993); “Christianity and Environmental Justice” (Crosscurrents, June 2011); and the chapter “Living Water,” in Living Cosmology: Christian Responses to Journey of the Universe (Mary Evelyn Tucker and John Grim, eds., Orbis 2016). Previous ministries included Congregational Coordinator at Earth Ministry, Settle. In addition to two advanced theological degrees, she holds an M.A. in Environmental Conservation Education. She and her congregation created the Congregational Watershed Discipleship Manual (Christian and interreligious versions) available for free PDF download or bound copy order at https://vow4climate.org/manual-order-form-congregational-watershed-manuals.
